Principal Teachers are currently recruiting for a Secondary Teacher of Food Technology and Health and Social Studies for the summer term 2026 in the Catterick area. This is a full-time, 1-term contract starting in April 2026, with the successful candidate teaching Food Technology and Health and Social Studies in KS3 and KS4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food Technology and Health and Social Studies in KS3 and KS4, ensuring lessons are engaging, dynamic, and effective.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
  • Monitor, assess and provide feedback on student progress to help students achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to maintain a high standard of education.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology and Health and Social Studies is desirable. Qualified Design & Technology Teachers will also be considered for this position.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
