Principal Teachers are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communication Support Worker to support a Year 4 pupil with hearing impairment in a mainstream primary school setting. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting children’s learning and communication needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil using BSL in the classroom and during school activities.

  • Facilitate clear communication between the pupil, their peers, and teaching staff.

  • Support the child’s learning, social development, and emotional well-being.

  • Work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SEND team to implement tailored support strategies.

  • Adapt classroom resources and activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.


Requirements:

  • BSL Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (required).

  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.

  • A patient, empathetic, and professional approach.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • An enhanced DBS check
