Welcome to another edition of our vibrant school newsletter! ๐ŸŽ‰ It was a whirlwind of a week packed with endless learning, ingenious creating and collaborative efforts that we think you will find impressive!

Woodwork!

Two of our students were lucky enough to learn how to make their very own sword and shield out of wood last week! โš”๏ธ ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Rod showed them how to safely use a coping saw, hammer a nail and sand the wood down to leave a smooth finish! They are busy planning a story to role play so watch this space ๐ŸŽฅ

Pancakes!

Two of our Hubsters poured their heartsโ€”and batter into making pancakes last week for all the members of our knitting club! The buttery aroma wafted through the Hub, drawing a crowd eager for a taste of this unexpected treat. As the knitting club crew took bites of the fluffy pancakes, smiles spread from one face to another, setting a positive tone for the day. The simple act of kindness was not only a feast for the taste buds but also an uplifting gesture that left Hubsters filled with both warmth and gratitude.

Thrive

During some of our Thrive sessions we have been enjoying a variety of activities including bingo, a blindfolded obstacle course and a game of hide and seek which everybody got involved in! As you can see from the photos some of the staff and students got very creative with their hiding spots! Even our Director Becca found a spot where she could not be found (behind the office blinds!).

Collaborative lessons!

We saw some amazing collaborative work last week. One of our Hubsters led a maths lesson measuring volume and this collective work proved to be a strong method of learning, bringing minds together to solve problems and create. Not only was the leading Hubster empowered but it also enhanced understanding among the students through joint effort and discussion. Similarly, a collaborative drawing activity, with each student contributing through the use of string on a pen, not only encouraged teamwork but also creativity. The collective effort resulted in some well-crafted images of a fish and a flower. However, some of the pictures were not as obvious and provided some giggles at least.

Sensory Room!

In a delightful burst of creativity, two of our Hubsters crafted their very own cave within the sensory room, transforming it into a cosy haven. Tucked away in the comforting folds of the cave, they found a peaceful retreat of relaxation and serenity.
